Flower & Alter Team 2015 Annual Report

The flower and alter team cordially invites you to be a member of our team! I hope you will

notice the work that we do around the church making it a lovely sacred space for worship! In addition

to that we sell Easter Lilies and Poinsettia’s every year. We also help with the Gingerbread Fair making

arrangements. This is a really fun time and next year we will probably take two days to make them as

one day simply isn’t enough time.

Each member of the team takes one or two months to be sure that flowers are in the sanctuary

each Sunday. There is a sign-up sheet near the office. Everyone in the church is invited to have flowers

that you can then take home after the service! We also have a garden in the front of the church that

we tend to in the summer months. Our team has legacy funds which support our endeavors. We have

a small budget of $175.00 this year. We participate quarterly in the Worship Ministry meetings.

Determination of new Chair person	Jo Nancy and Marjorie nominated as co-Chairs.  Jo Nancy will attend ministry and council meetings.	Elected.
Months on Flower Giving calendar assigned supervision	Personal choices for months considered. Colors for the paraments are noted for each week on the calendar.	All months assigned and marked on the Giving calendar.  Martha will follow up on last Sunday in January.
Thank you-s	Thank you to Vicky for her Team leadership.  A variety of ways to give thanks to those who have donated flowers was also discussed.	Each month’s supervisor will send a Thank You note to those who have donated flowers.  This may be done weekly or at the end of the month.
Palm Sunday	Early - March 20 Palms need to be ordered soon: Andrew Lane Co.  Palms need to be refrigerated when they arrive, and separated on Saturday before for sanctuary arrangements and distribution to the congregations.	Jo Nancy will order the palms. Team will meet Saturday, March 19, 10:00-12:00 to prepare the palms.
Easter lilies	Where to order-Lowes.    Contact? When to arrange for congregation orders? Notification? Time to arrange lilies for Easter services	Jo Nancy will check on the current contact person and get information for ordering; place order when ready Plan: Notice in the February Messenger-Jo Nancy Ordering tables- March 6, Marjorie supervise;   March 13, Marjorie and Patrice man table Order forms- Jo Nancy Marjorie and Martha will pick up lilies;  Saturday 3/26   10:00 arrange lilies

Team recycled selected faux flowers. Arrange for drainage hole in urn plant holder, plan for planting and placement outside by steps.

New Form /Budgets	Deadline on Legacy Funds is now December 1st. Codes must be used on forms.	New forms are in the mail boxes in church office. So is the key to the church. JO Nancy will get us the info on legacy funds.
December 10 year anniversary in this church	Stay tuned.
Music and arts gallery in May in hallway upstairs	We should do some flowers then in the hallway. Whoever has the month of May. Fundraising for rollover accounts for music equipment, bring to council	We will discuss via e mail. Marjorie has the month of May. The calendar should be laid. out differently. Next year we will create our calendar or ask Sarah to put one month per page so people do not miss a Sunday.
